Owen started barbershop harmony with his
dad as a teenager. When a good baritone was located, the Doyle's
would drive three hours to sing with him. In Minnesota in 1952,
these were "allnighters."
Owen started singing with the Golden Chordsmen in 1982
and this is his eighth quartet.
He has taken vocal production classes for 18 years at
the SPEBSQSA Harmony College and vocal production and , music
reading classes at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
As a coach he has several students of Barbershop and
is looking forward to helping the talented Sound Judgment quartet.
